Is it permissible to pray behind a deobandi Imam?

11 Jumaada Akhira 1432 – 14th May 2011
Question and Answer session with Shaykh Saleh ibn Muhammad al-Luhaydaan [May Allaah preserve him]
Sharh Kitaab at-Tawheed, Chapter 7 in the Shaykh’s Masjid, Ar-Riyadh
Question: Is it permissible to pray behind one who does Ta’weel of the Names and Attributes of Allaah, follows the Deobandi sect and takes knowledge from scholars from that sect?
Answer: No this is not permissible; this is because their Aqeedah has aspects of Shirk and being with them leads to these aspects of Shirk, such as Wahdah al-Wujood.
Editors note:This question was asked by one the brothers from Leicester who currently resides in Ar-riyadh and attends the sheikh`s weekly class

Authentic deobandis do not have shirk in their aqeedah. You should read an authentic book on deobandi aqaid before answering such questions. I do not think you are salafis because the true salaf saliheen would never give answers without knowledge.
